Editor’s Picks: top 10 kitchen Stools

Posted on December 12, 2022 by vwxqd

design editor Kai Ethier shares her favorite kitchen stools on the market right now.
After working on our March issue, which pays tribute to the hardest-working room in the home, I have kitchens on the mind. Today I’m sharing my top picks for one of the space’s most important pieces of furniture: bar stools. A set of stylish, comfortable bar stools can really elevate your kitchen in both form and function. They transform your utilitarian cooking counter into a space to enjoy meals and just hangout, and they’re a great way to add your personal style if a full renovation isn’t in the cards. Click through to find your perfect set.

The Palmerston stool by Coolican & Co. is a favorite among H&H editors, myself included. It comes in multiple lovely finishes, like walnut and white oak, but I’m especially fond of the black oak finish (pictured).

I featured this mod Beso stool by Netherlands-based designer Khodi Feiz for Artifort in H&H‘s March issue, not only for its sleek build, but for its beautiful rich emerald color – also known as H&H‘s color of the year.

Products: Beso Stool by Artifort, from $995

The Lucy barstool by bend in Peacock Blue would make a playful addition to a mod or rustic kitchen. Bonus: it can be used inside your home or outside, serving as extra seating for casual summer soirées.

For those looking for something more traditional, the Brugge bar stool from The Art Shoppe is the perfect fit. Its weathered oak finish and antique nail trim offer a dose of patina.

Get the bistro look with Serena & Lily’s Riveria bar stool, typical of what you’d find in a quaint 1930s French brasserie.

The netted detail and chrome legs of the Guapa stool from Palazzetti is offered in a range of colors to suit any kitchen space, from sage green to ocean blue and ash grey (pictured).

Plastic and pale wood combine to create a bar stool that would look just as at home in a modern kitchen as it would in a Wes Anderson film thanks to its classic-with-a-quirk aesthetic.

Products: cream Bar Stool, price available upon request.

Speaking of classic, that’s exactly how I would describe the Hadley bar stool from Ethan Allen. Plus, it looks like you could sit comfortably there all day – the sign of a great chair.

The Abby stool from Structube is handsome, comfortable and best of all, it’s reasonably priced.
