The wardrobe in the spare space utilized to be packed with things like luggage, wrapping paper, gift bags, as well as a lot of other clutter that had to be dealt with in buy to complimentary up area for actual playing as well as Clara-storage (since this is now the playroom/big woman space instead of a space full o’ junk).
So we took whatever out (except for the picture albums & yearbooks up top) as well as it magically disappeared.

Just kidding, it ended up in the guest space closet.
Which really seems okay considering that we’re on year three of living right here (CRAZY!) as well as we haven’t observed any type of guests utilizing the guest wardrobe at all, so it made sense for us to put that useful genuine estate to work for us. There’s really still a bit space for hanging things on the bar if we shove all the bags to the left or the right, so we may do that if we’re expecting company, just in case. however for the rest of the time it’s a lot more practical to see my gift bags all spread out so I can get hold of one great as well as fast.
And the great news is that when the door is shut, our guests don’t have to be subjected to all of the products that lurk behind it.
And after the addition of a few Clara-things, the wardrobe in her huge woman space is now great as well as beneficial – both for games as well as for storing a few not-her-size yet products of garments (get it? they’re her huge woman clothes in her huge woman room). It would be fun to paint the wardrobe walls a lively color (coral? teal?) so perhaps we’ll get to that sometime.
In the meantime, we just added a good friend or two. You understand for wardrobe ambiance. like her monkey (he likes to hang out).
The addition of a few toys essentially produces one more play-zone in the home (Clara already plays a great deal in her huge woman space thanks to her play kitchen area as well as her bit table for stuffed animal tea parties, (not to mention fake naps on the daybed) however the wardrobe is yet one more bit area that she can slip into as well as enjoy.
Down on the floor we have a few things that I chosen up for the Macklemore Challenge. keep in mind the $1 chair that utilized to be a faded old yellow-brown color? as well as the cradle that had some burns as well as scratches together with a quite musty odor?
Well they’re looking (and smelling) great as well as fresh now…
They were both quickly revived thanks to some cleaning, priming, as well as fresh paint. For the chair I utilized Valspar’s Gloss in traditional Red (which is a paint as well as primer in one). as well as for the cradle I utilized Rustoleum’s universal All-Surface spray paint in gloss white (which likewise has a built-in primer).
I really have some a lot more plans for the cradle (rhymes with bom bom bringe) so I pledge I’ll keep you posted! It absolutely won’t just be all fundamental as well as white for long…
But even though the cradle is only half done, the recently cleared-out wardrobe is getting great deals of play.
I’m really discovering that as Clara grows it’s great to have a few zones throughout the home for her to “discover things to do” instead of plopping every toy in one basket in the living room. It seems like the modification of scenery from space to space holds her rate of interest more, as well as I like that there aren’t ten million jumbled toys in one area to clean up (by delegating them to different areas, a lot of of the time they stay in those new zones so there’s just a bit choosing up in a few spaces instead of a gigantic stack of mixed toys on the living space rug).
So that’s the story of our quick bit wardrobe overhaul. What have you people been transferring as well as organizing? any type of other wardrobe clear-outs going on? If you have a guest space do you keep the wardrobe totally bare in situation somebody wishes to hang something? Or do you utilize it considering that a lot of of the time you’re not housing guests as well as it’s useful storage space? We just realized the other day that we only have five wardrobes in this entire four bedroom home (our 800 square foot one-bedroom apartment or condo right here in Richmond had four) so it’s a question we ever had an empty one at all!
